How does it work?
Set up the app
Easy:
1. Download the app.
2. Select where your gate is located. Just browse the map.
3. What is the radius when the call should happen? Zoom the map in or out.
4. What is the gate phone number? Insert it with the international calling code.
The Automatic Gate Opener app detects when you approach your gate and, at the predefined radius, initiates the call.
Set up the gate
Opening the gate via calling has its virtues, like opening from a distance. But if you are having another call, then… it simply does not work. You can not have two calls at the same time.
That's why we chose another approach - calling from the server. Therefore, even if you are having another call, the gate just opens.
The app will show you a server phone number. Please whitelist it on your gate.
Share with others
Sharing the gate access with others is super easy. Just add the new user's phone number and save.
We will send them an SMS with a link to download the Automatic Gate Opener app. The gate is already preset with the same settings (except your personal Bluetooth settings), which they can adjust.
The access removal is even easier - just delete the permission.
The app is built with your privacy as a top priority. Yes, for the opening automation to work, the app must have the permission to track your location all the time, because opening the gate is decided based on your location, if you approach. Your movements outside of your gate opening radius are not sent outside the app, it is not used, and is not stored. The only data is the entry to the geofence, which triggers the gate opening automation.

How to set it up?

2. Set up your gate location, opening radius, and gate phone number. You can select between manual and automatic opening.
3. If your gate only accepts calls from authorized numbers, add the app's provided number to your gate's approved caller list.
What are the benefits?
First and foremost - Automatic Gate Opener is a convenient luxury! The entrance simply opens when you arrive.
It also enhances road safety by eliminating the need to make phone calls while driving.
Have you ever been unable to open your gate because you were already on another call? Since the Automatic Gate Opener works in the background (by using a separate whitelisted phone number), no more waiting until you end another call.
Or if you enjoy streaming music or podcasts from the phone, you'll appreciate that it continues playing uninterrupted. Again, the app doesn't use your phone for calling, but does this in the background.
Customization options
You can personalize when and how the gate opens. The options are:
Entry
Manual — You open the gate manually in the app by tapping "Open Gate".
Automatic and always — Gate opens automatically whenever you approach.
Automatic if not parking — Gate opens automatically only when you approach and are not parked. It prevents unwanted openings when the car is already parked.
Automatic if Bluetooth is connected — Gate opens automatically when you approach and your phone is connected to your car via Bluetooth. It verifies you're coming with your vehicle.
Exit
Manual — Open the gate manually by tapping "Open Gate" in the app.
Automatic if Bluetooth connects — Gate opens automatically when your phone connects to your car via Bluetooth.
Share with others
Sharing gate access with others is simple. Just add their phone number, and they'll receive an SMS with further instructions. The gate settings will be the same, but they can change them.
Removing access is even easier — simply delete the permission.

FAQ
How reliable the Automatic Gate Opener app is?
Automatic Gate Opener relies on your phone's GPS. Newer phones with a charged battery or phones charging during the drive are pretty accurate. If your phone battery is running low, then to preserve energy, the phone may switch off GPS or mobile data, and in the worst case, the automation does not work. If automation fails, you can still open the gate manually by opening the app.
How do I know if Automatic Gate Opener opened the gate?
If the app reacts and opens the gate, you will hear a mild sound (beep). This requires push notifications to be enabled.
What to do if the gate does not open?
If the gate did not open, please open the app and open the gate from there. If this happens regularly, please send an email to autlo@autlo.com, and we will try to help.
Can I also open the gate manually, if needed?
Of course. If you want to let somebody else in or for whatever other reason, just open the app and manually open the gate.
Why do I need to share my phone location?
If you use Automatic Gate Opener automatically, then it opens the gate, if you approach. So the app has to see the location in the background, all the time. Nothing is stored or sent out from the app until you cross the gate geofence.
What if your gate does not have an option to open via the call?
The good news is that phone call activation capability can be added to any electrical gate, garage door, or barrier.
First, check with your supplier. Maybe this feature is already available, you just do not know about it. Or it is not yet activated.

How long is my data stored for?
All events are stored for 4 months and then deleted automatically. The data is handled inside the European Union, and according to EU GDPR rules. See more in the terms.
